AmaZulu have officially appointed Portuguese-born Pedro Dias as their new director of football with immediate effect.
The 50-year-old brings a wealth of experience as a former professional player, coach, and director of football, having previously worked in the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Portugal.
Dias is not new to South African football. In 2015, he went to academies in Pretoria, Rustenburg, and Johannesburg.
Over the course of two weeks, he also went to Platinum Stars, Ajax Cape Town, and Santos as part of the networking exercise.
AmaZulu President, Sandile Zungu said of the club’s newest member: “It is with absolute pleasure that we welcome Pedro to AmaZulu. After a series of interviews, we are sure that we have our own person.
“He has made Usuthu his assignment. He impressed us in the interviews. We just could not wait for him to land here and begin his role in assisting AmaZulu to develop the Usuthu way, and to see greater intervention between the development ranks and the senior team.”
“Pedro’s role is to oversee and ensure that we reap the full rewards of our investment, for years to come,” Zungu added.
