Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett believes their upcoming clash against Cape Town City in the iKapa Derby could be their turning point this season.
The Urban Warriors are set to travel to the DHL Stadium to face the Citizens first the campaign’s first iKapa Derby.
Spurs are yet to claim their first win in the DStv Premiership having suffered six consecutive defeats so far this season.
Bartlett says his side will go into this match looking for maximum points and bragging rights for the next couple of months.
“They will be playing for themselves, their families and obviously their communities, which is important,” Bartlett told his club’s official website.
“Besides the three points, it is about the bragging rights and playing for the pride of Cape Town.
“Come Sunday until December, whoever has the bragging rights will have the upper hand. We know they’ve had against the former Ajax Cape Town but that’s irrelevant.
“It’s a new season, it’s a new team and our players will be coming with the attitude of getting the points.
“This could be the game that turns our season around.”
