Cape Town Spur coach Shaun Bartlett is hoping they can once again make Athlone Stadium a “fortress and slaughterhouse” like they did last season.
The Urban Warrior did not get the start they wanted in their DStv Premiership opener after they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of TS Galaxy thanks to an own goal by Cohen Stander at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday.
Spurs will be hoping to bounce back and claim their first win in the top flight when they welcome Sekhukhune United to Athlone Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Bartlett is confident his side will walk away with maximum points when they take on Babina Noko in the first home fixture of the season.
“We hope to continue where we left off last season in making Athlone a fortress, a slaughterhouse for any team that’s going to come there,” Bartlett told his club’s official website.
“For us, we got to make sure we come with the energy, with the intention and the right attitude to win the game with the support of our fans that’s been there for us
“That will be a good start for us to kick-start our season at home and hopefully get the three points on the board with the work rate that will be put in by everybody involved.”
