Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett says his side needs to be better as a club as they prepare for life in the top-flight during the 2023/24 season.
The 50-year-old mentor will remain at the Cape Town-based outfit after putting pen to paper on a two-year contract extension.
Bartlett proved himself this past campaign after he guided the club to a second-place finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
He was at the helm when Spurs gained their promotion to the DStv Premiership via the playoff in which they secured three wins and one draw in four matches against Maritzburg United and Casric Stars.
Bartlett says they have been working hard over the past couple of weeks to prepare themselves for the DStv Premiership season.
“Following promotion, we had a very short turnaround before we started pre-season,” Bartlett told his club’s official website.
“From myself as the head coach, not much time to have a holiday or a break because we had to start our preparation and getting a team together, looking at trialists for the upcoming season which we started on the third of July.
“We kept the core of the team, which was important, but the players realised that once we achieved that promotion that we are on a different level.
“Everything needs to be better as individuals, as a club, as a team and that is what we’ve been working on in the last couple of weeks.”
