Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett has expressed his excitement as his side prepares for the upcoming 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
The Urban Warriors have strengthened their squad for the season ahead by acquiring the services of three new signings to their roster including Luvuyo Phewa and Siyanda Msani on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns and Keagan Buchanan following his departure from AmaZulu.
Spurs have also retained the services of veteran duo Clayton Daniels and Michael Morton while Lubeni Haukongo has also extended his stay at the club.
Bartlett says his side are relishing the chance to get their campaign started when they travel to the Mbombela Stadium to face TS Galaxy in their opening DStv Premiership fixture on August 6.
“Looking forward to it, mixed emotions, a little bit of excitement to be back into topflight football,” Bartlett told his club’s official website.
“A little bit of nerves obviously from ourselves, from players. We’re looking forward to the first game come the 6th of August, we will be ready and prepared for whatever we’re going to face in Galaxy.
“As a club, from the juniors to the first team everybody’s excited and looking forward to the upcoming season.”
