New Kaizer Chiefs signing Edson Castillo is eager to get started and is relishing the chance to help the club end their trophy drought by winning silverware during his time with the Soweto giant.
The Venezuelan international joined the Soweto giants from the Venezuelan Primera Division side Monagas after putting pen to paper on a two-year contact with an option to extend his stay by a further year.
The 29-year-old brings a wealth of experience having previously played for Mineros, Neftchi Baku, Mineros, Academia Puerto Cabello, Zacatepec, Caracas and Monagas.
Over the course of his career, Castillo has scored 22 goals and registered seven assists in 225 appearances across all competitions.
Castillo has since revealed that he had offers from big club but was excited about the opportunity to join Amakhosi.
“The biggest Club in South Africa and one of the biggest on the continent,” Castillo told his club’s official website.
“I am very happy for the opportunity and I am also very excited about coming to such a big Club.
“I had opportunities to go to other clubs but when I heard about the interest from such a big club I had no doubts about coming here, and seeing this welcome, I am very happy and believe I have made the right decision.
“I want to win trophies and have a successful time here.”
