New Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Edson Castillo is relishing the chance to get started with his new club and make the Amakhosi fans proud by “winning many trophies”.
The Venezuelan international joined the Soweto giants from the Venezuelan Primera Division side Monagas after putting pen to paper on a two-year contact with an option to extend his stay by a further year.
The 29-year-old brings a wealth of experience having previously played for Mineros, Neftchi Baku, Mineros, Academia Puerto Cabello, Zacatepec, Caracas and Monagas.
Over the course of his career, Castillo has scored 22 goals and registered seven assists in 225 appearances across all competitions.
Castillo is looking forward to hit the ground running at Chiefs and give it his all to gain success with the Soweto giants.
“I’m very excited to start this new chapter in my football career with a club like Kaizer Chiefs,” Castillo said in a message on Instagram.
“I want to thank them for the welcome they have given me from the first moment I arrived in this great city.
“I would also like to thank everyone who has supported me in this process including the club’s board, coaching staff and my representatives, Andrande Sports Group.
“I will give my all to achieve the goals we have set ourselves as a club and of course win many titles for this great club. Amakhosi for life!”
