Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that midfielder Cole Alexander has parted ways with the club following an agreement between the two parties.
The 33-year-old had one year left on his current contract with Amakhosi but the club opted to release him by mutual consent.
Alexander joined the club on a three-year deal on a free transfer from Indian outfit Odisha back in 2021
The midfielder made 21 appearances during his first campaign with Amakhosi but recurrent injuries limited him to only seven appearances last season.
Alexander now becomes the third player to leave the Soweto giants following the departures of Siyabonga Ngezana and Phathutshedzo Nange, respectively.
Speaking on Cole’s departure from the club, Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr said: “We are sad to see a talented player like Cole leave the Club but, having spoken with his people, we came to the conclusion that it is in the interests of all parties for us to let him go.”
“We will always appreciate Cole’s contribution to Kaizer Chiefs and give him our blessings and wish him everything of the best in his career.”
