Midfield maestro Haashim Domingo says he is happy to be back in the Mother City following his move to Cape Town City.
The 28-year-old arrives at the club after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Citizens.
Domingo joins the club after parting ways with Raja Athletic Club, where he made 10 appearances under former Orlando Pirates coach Josep Zinnbauer and assistant Fadlu Davids.
The midfielder now becomes Eric Tinkler’s first signing as the club strengthens their squad for the 2024–25 season.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is relishing the opportunity to help his new club succeed during the upcoming season.
“The biggest factor would be, definitely the playing style, the identity of the club and then also to be back in the Mother City,” Domingo said.
“What I would like to achieve is definitely to help the club and the team be successful.
“From a personal perspective, goals and assists but for me its all about the team so the foundation I would say would be my faith, my family and just having the proper mindset just to keep going.
“I think it’s a lot driven by faith, you know, having the correct faith that’s what kept me going most of the time.
“The type of player I am, definitely be a technical player thats my strong point. As you can see I’m not the physical type but definitely technical.
“The message for the fans would definitely be that I’m extremely excited to play in front of them and hopefully they can come out in numbers and support us,” he concluded.
