AmaZulu coach Pablo Franco Martin admits that his side “were not at their best level” after suffering a defeat against Cape Town Spurs in the DStv Premiership.
Usuthu suffered their seventh defeat in the league after going down 3-1 to Spurs when a brace by Ashley Cupido and a goal by Chumani Butsaka cancelled out Abbubaker Mobara’s 30th-minute goal at Athlone Stadium this past weekend.
The Durban-based outfit will be hoping to bounce back when they turn their focus to their upcoming clash against Royal AM in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup on Thursday.
Martin has now called on his side to rectify their mistake and improve their performance heading forward.
“What we can improve on is the chances that we were conceding,” Franco Martin told his club’s official website.
“We need to understand that we were not at our best level. What we need to do is work harder and play with more solidarity.
“We knew it was going to be tough. Every game to them right now is like a final.”
