Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson says they are all accountable and have to take responsibility following their defeat to Richards Bay in the DStv Premiership.

Amakhosi have suffered their third straight defeat in the DStv Premiership after going down 1-0 to the Natal Rich Boys through a goal from Simphiwe Mcineka at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Durban

The defeat leaves Amakhosi in 10th place on the log with 30 points after 24 matches, while Richards Bay are placed 15th on the log with 20 points from 24 matches.

Johnson admits that they will have to try new tactics after missing numerous chance to grab a goal against Richards Bay.

“We missed so many chances, we had to be calm on the ball in the first-half, I think it came in the second-half as well, where like you say, we had 85% ball possession and we’re just not calm enough to put it in the back of the net,” Johnson said on SuperSport.

“And I think that’s the only shot they had on goal, was the corner-kick where they scored from and what can we do? It’s like a stuck record, we’ve got to go back, make sure we’re able to put the ball in the back of the net because everything is there, we’re just not putting the ball in the back of the net. So we’re gonna go back there and try again.”

He added: “I don’t it’s the players, it’s all of us.

“We have to take responsibility. I have to do something else, it starts with me. We have to do something else to make sure that they are in the right space and mind, and look at what we do during training and that gives them a bonus to play these games.

“And when you see, like you say, 14 shots at goal, guys come on we have to put two away. We cannot allow, I think this is probably the third team we’re playing against that their goalkeeper is the Man of the Match.

“So we have to look at that as well, it’s not possible for the goalkeeper to be the Man of the match against us. We’ve got to pull up our socks. It starts with me and the players will follow.”
