Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson admits his side have to work on their “mental calmness” following their defeat to Golden Arrows in the DStv Premiership.
The Glamour Boys extended their winless run to three matches after conceding their third straight defeat across all competitions following their 2-1 defeat to Arrows.
Knox Mutizwa opened the scoring for Arrows in the 20th minute before S’fiso Hlanti levelled matters three minutes later but Mutizwa put the game beyond Amakhosi after bagging a 54th minute winner at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.
The defeat leaves Chiefs sitting in 10th place with 11 points after 10 games, while Arrows are placed second on the log with 20 points after nine matches.
“I think we have to be a lot more calmer,” Johnson told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Because of the results we’ve been getting in the last three, four, five games, we all seem to be a lot more anxious, especially when we are closer to the opponent’s goals.
“So that creates a lot of tension within yourself and that mental calmness we have to work on that I think.
“Play the Chiefs way and the results will come. There’s no expectations.
“I think we have a team that can that can compete. But it’s a team, like most teams, when you go through a bad patch, you’ve got to mentally come out of that. And that’s where we are now at the moment.”
