Johnson was disappointed in his team’s performance, saying they “just didn’t get it right” but insists they will go back to the drawing board and work on rectifying their mistakes.
“Ja for sure (disappointed), I thought the performance we put on tonight was not even half the performance put on Saturday and ja, what can I say? We have to go back, try again, put different players on the pitch and let’s see what happens,” Johnson told SuperSport TV after the game.
“But in saying that, ja, we just didn’t get it right tonight. Not happy with the performance from a lot of players but we have to fix them up, we have to come back.
“I think the most important attribute is that the players need to be better technically, in a lot of moments they have to play, you know we have to pass the ball better.
“I don’t think there’s a time where we pass the ball better, we’re not looking like we can pass the ball better.
“When we go 1-0 down, yes we have 45 minutes to come back, be the confident that you are, the Kaizer Chiefs that you are and play the proper ball, don’t just kick the ball and that for me was very disturbing from my players.”
The Glamour Boys will be hoping for a win when they travel to the Buffalo City Stadium to face off against Chippa United in their next DStv Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
