Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson bemoans his side’s missed opportunities and felt that they should have walked away with all three points against Cape Town City.
Amakhosi and the Citizens were forced to share the spoils after playing out to a goalless draw at Athlone Stadium in the DStv Premiership this past weekend.
The draw sees Chiefs drop down to seventh place on the table with 30 points after 21 games, while City dropped to sixth position with 32 points from 21 matches.
Jonhson resevered special praise for his attacking department, who put in the work “in attack and defence” as his side were able to keep a clean sheet.
“I thought we should have won the game, I thought we had a good first and second half, we missed quite a few opportunities too many but you know what, from the last game we played, the energy that we put in the derby,” Johnson told on SuperSport TV after the game.
“The energy that this team put in today, I think it is just climbing. We couldn’t score the goal but we’ll probably get it right next time
“Thanks to the fans for coming out, they gave us a good welcome in Cape Town but I thought we should have won the game.
“Look, I thought the front four in Wandile (Duba), Ashley (Du Preez), Pule (Mmodi) and Shabba (Mduduzi Shabalala), they did very well, they did well in both transitions, in attack and defence and for that we have to give them credit.
“But again, we keep a clean-sheet, which is normal for us this time but we should have scored the goal,” he concluded.
