Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika says his side cannot afford to take Marumo Gallants lightly ahead of their DStv Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
Amakhosi are currently on a four game winning run in the DStv Premiership following their 2-1 win over Stellies through goals from Ashley Du Preez and Keagan Dolly at the FNB Stadium this past weekend.
The victory sees Amakhosi remain in fourth place in the DStv Premiership standings – level on 40 points with third placed SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates in second position on the table.
Kwinika is well aware of the threat Gallants possesses but is confident his side are ready for the battle in Soweto.
“Considering where they are and also seeing that they got the result against Royal AM, they showing they are fighting for their lives,” Kwinika told his club’s official website.
“And for us, it is a matter of us being on our game and not taking it lightly. Sometimes the log is not a true reflection of a team’s performance.
“Winning is part of our culture; the more you win the more you get used to it. We are in the process of finding consistency in winning, which was missing before, and the more consistent we get at winning, the better it will be for the team.”
