Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart says he feels privileged to be captaining the team for the 2024-25 season.

Amakhosi’s new head coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed Maart as his new captain to succeed Itumeleng Khune.

The 28-year-old has been at the club since joining Amakhosi from Sekhukhune United in 2022.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder has since scored four goals and assisted a further five in 62 appearances across all competitions

“We have 11 leaders on the field, so the captain’s band they gave it to me.

“It’s a privilege to be honest with you, [to skipper the biggest team in South Africa.

“The last two seasons was tough to be honest but it can be tough and tough. I think this season is going to be a nice, big season for especially for me and the team.”
