Mabasa believes his side deserved this win following their mixed run of results recently in the DStv Premiership.
“I don’t have enough words to describe what I’m feeling right now. The game that we’ve just managed to display for the people, I mean we had to fix the mistakes that we made in our past two games,” Mabasa told SuperSport TV after he was handed his Man of the Match award.
“Because I feel like we deserved the three points but we never took our chances and today we finally took our chances and the score-line reflects that perfectly,” he said.
Despite winning the Man of the Match away has praised his teammates and the quality within the squad for their showing against Arrows.
“It’s crazy, this is a talented team and honestly if we can believe in the abilities that we have and work together as a team and listen to instructions, we can go very far with this team,” he said.
“And like I said a few weeks ago, they will begin to notice what Orlando Pirates is about.”
Mabasa also explained the reason why he carries the names of his uncle and cousin on his bandaged wrist, which he displayed during his celebration.
“These are just people who have helped me on my football journey, they’ve supported this club as well and when I started playing football, they gave me the most support and I’ll always attribute each and every game to them,” he revealed.
“Because I feel like they played a big role in my career until now. I know that they are watching over me and they are proud of the work that I have been doing so far.
“It’s just for people to know that I’m back home and I’m here to score goals and that’s exactly what I wanna do.
“It’s a match-ball, that means three goals, I’m happy, happy for the team performance and definitely we need to improve and get the result and we’ve been doing that, so I’m just happy and grateful for that,” Mabasa concluded.
