Chippa United have confirmed the signing of winger Craig Martin from Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old joined the Buccaneers in January from Cape Town City but struggled for game time and was only limited to six appearances during the 2022-23 season.
The Chilli Boys have since captured the services of Martin on a two-year contact as he looks to become a regular in their starting line up.
Over the course of his career Martin has scored 14 goals and assisted a further 10 in 158 across all competitions playing for the likes of City and Pirates.
“Chippa United Football Club proudly announces the signing of Craig Martin on a 2-year contract with option to extend an additional year,” read the club’s statement.
“A key move to fortify our squad and magnify our distinct, energetic style of play for the upcoming season.
“Craig Martin, a Cape Town native has left a significant imprint on South African football since his premier division debut with Cape Town City in 2017.
“His experience is evident with over 100 appearances for Cape Town City and fruitful tenure at Orlando Pirates. Outling true passion for the beautiful game.”
