Chippa United have announced a major clearout after they released 16 players ahead of the new season.
The Chilli Boys revealed that 16 players contract have come to an end and will not be renewed at the club.
Those players include Luvuyo Memela, Roscoe Pietersen, Loydt Kazapua, Azola Mtsabo, Siyabonga Nhlapo, Senzo Nkwanyana, Siphelele Luthuli, Darren Johnson, Menzi Ndwandwe, Andile Fakude, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Diego Apollis, Khanyisile Mayo, Siseko Manona, Yurig Conwood and Andile Mbenyane.
Meanwhile, the likes of Goodman Mosele and Gadinkame Modise will return to their respective clubs after their loan spells at Chippa.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the above players for their dedication and contributions to the club,” said chairman Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi in statement.
“You have all brought pride to the Eastern Cape, and we wish you the very best in your future endeavours.
“This announcement comes with the promise of exciting new signings that will be unveiled in due course.
“Fans can also look forward to seeing new faces from the Eastern Cape as we continue to build a strong and competitive team for the coming season.”
