Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule has set his sights on scoring more goals and assists during the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Mbule played a crucial role in helping Sundowns secure their sixth straight DStv Premiership title while also helping them reach the semi-finals of the Caf Champions League.
The 25-year-old contributed to three goals this past season with two goals and an assist in 29 appearances across all competitions in his first season with the club.
Mbule is now determined to improve his contributions to the team in the new season and is hungry to win more silverware with the club domestically and on a continental level.
“In the coming season I think for me I need to score more goals, be involved and play more often because at Sundowns we always have the ball,” Mbule told his club’s official website.
“I think I need to improve on being more involved in the games, make those assists and score goals for the team. As a team I think we’ve been doing well, the thing that was missing was just managing the game, but I think we are going to improve on that.”
“I think they [former teammates] made it easier also because I had been playing with them for quite some time at SuperSport and the others we’ve met through the national team.
“When I came it didn’t feel like a different environment for me and beside my teammates I think everyone here has a good heart and everyone here always has an ear to listen to you when you want to say something. I think my stay here has been quite nice.”
