Mamelodi Sundowns played out to their third consecutive draw following their 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday evening.
Arrows were only up by one goal in Durban when Mlungwana let Sipho Mbule’s header off of a corner kick get past him and into the goal.
Earlier, Mlungwana made a number of great saves as the Arrows, an unpredictable mid-table team, put on their best game of the season.
It was Mbule’s first Premiership goal of the season. He came off the bench in the second half to help Sundowns extend their streak of league games without a loss to 20.
In the 23rd minute, Ryan Moon scored for the home team. He was the first to react to a low cross and hit the ball past custodian Ronwen Williams.
Since April 1, when they won their sixth straight Premiership title, Sundowns have been in a bit of a slump. They have drawn with Cape Town City, Swallows, and Arrows, and they have only scored one goal during this time.
But they are 19 points ahead of second-placed Orlando Pirates and have four games left. They are on track to beat the record of 16 points that they set last year for a team that won the championship.
The Pretoria team has made it to the quarterfinals of both the South African FA Cup and the CAF Champions League. They want to win all three.
