New Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Júnior Mendieta says he feels “privileged and honoured” to be representing the Brazilians during the 2023-24 season.
The 30-year-old completed his move from Stellenbosch FC to Sundowns after he dotted down a five-year contract with the Brazilians.
The Argentine brings a wealth of experience and bolsters their attacking options, having 5 goals and 15 assists on 79 appearances across all competitions during his time with Stellies.
The wingers also has experience playing for Deportivo Morón, Lanús, Los Andes and Atlético de Rafaela in Argentine before making the move to South Africa.
Mendieta will now become Sundowns’ second signing ahead of the new season after they announced the signing of Lesiba William Nku from Marumo Gallants.
“Where I come from football is everything, we go around the world to create memories for those that love the game as deeply as we do,”
“No matter where I am, I always give it my all. I know the sacrifices that our fans make to be able to see us do what we do.
“It is only natural that we’d want to repay their faith in us. This club demands that of us and what a privilege and honour it is to represent the yellow nation.”
