TS Galaxy veteran defender Vuyo Mere is looking forward to the new campaign as they look to improve on their performance of last season by finishing in the top eight during the 2023-24 season.
The Rockets finished the 2022-23 DStv Premiership season after finishing the campaign in 10th place, having won seven games, drew 14 and conceded nine defeats in 30 matches.
The 39-year-old struggled for game time last season and only made four appearances across all competitions.
Mere says he is delighted to be back with the squad and is hoping to help the club rectify their mistakes of the previous season.
“It’s good to be back after a long layoff and yes it’s not what we wanted to finish outside the top eight,” Mere told the Galaxy media.
“We didn’t reach our goal but at least we know where to improve.
“We gave a lot of unnecessary points away to teams who shouldn’t be beating us. At least now we have a very good technical team.
“I think they done their homework while we were off and we going to bolster the squad with new players coming in.
“Obviously we lost a lot of good players but we’ve signed a couple of good players.
“We’re looking forward to improving on last season and that’s finishing in the top eight.”
