Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo has urged his side to stay focused and keep grinding at training after extending their winning run to five-games in the DStv Premiership.
Babina Noko secured their fifth straight win in the league after claiming a 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane City.
Following their win, Sekhukhune sit in third place on the league table with 33 points from 20 games, while Pirates occupy fourth place on the log with the same amount of points from 21 matches.
Mntambo, who scored the winning goal for Sekhukhune, has dedicated his goal and the win to his son, while also urging his side to maintain their current run of form.
“Look, I think since the resumption of the league we have been working extremely hard as a team. Now I think it’s five games unbeaten, five wins in a row and we keep grinding at training working hard focus on the next game,” Mntambo told SuperSport TV after the game.
“When the coach came in midweek and said ‘Figo, I’m going to play you as a false striker you know, I’m mad at times and play you as a false nine, do you believe me?
“Then, I said no coach oh well the team comes first, I dare to play the role and look what it did for us today. I got an assist and a goal.
“My son is turning seven years old on Monday; I think this is for him. I liked to thank the first team, technical team, fans that came out in numbers, of course the whole Sekhukhune.”
