Cape Town City midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo has spoken out for the first time since joining the Citizens.
The 33-year-old joins the Citizens after parting ways with Sekhukhune United on July 2.
Mokotjo brings valuable experience, having played most of his career in Europe for the likes of Feyenoord, Excelsior, PEC Zwolle, Brentford and Cincinnati.
He is also no stranger to the South African top-flight, having started his career at SuperSport United while also playing for Sekhukhune upon his return from Europe.
Mokotjo is relishing the chance to don the colours of City, stating that he’s been waiting for this opportunity since arriving back in South Africa.
“I think me signing for City is something that I’m looking forward to, I’m really happy, very honoured to be here,” Mokotjo said.
“Like I said, I manifested it years ago when I came back to the country from Europe.”
The former Brentford midfielder has revealed what attracted him to join the Citizens.
“Definitely the playing style of Cape Town City impresses me a lot. All I care about is winning and making sure I can get the best out of myself so people can enjoy my football,” he added.
“Yeah, a lot of similarities actually between European teams and Cape Town City, they play very structured football.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder has also revealed what the Citizen supporters can expect from him.
“Well the kind of player that fans can expect is calm player, understands who he is and makes it easy for other players on the pitch, you could say a conductor or a general.”
