Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena admitted it’s not going to be easy to catch up with the remaining fixtures following their participation in the African Football League.
The Brazilians were recently crowned champions of the AFL after they defeated Wydad Casablanca 2-0 in the second leg and 3-2 goal aggregate.
Sundowns will now turn their attention to the Caf Champions League when they take on Mauritanian outfit Nouadhibou in their next Group A clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday.
Mokwena has bemoaned his side’s busy fixture schedule as they look to catch up on their fixture list after participating in the AFL.
“We have had a busy two months and some players have to be released to go and join their national teams for the upcoming FIFA matches while others will need to rest,” Mokwena said.
“It means we will not have enough time to train before resuming upcoming competitive matches.”
