Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has reacted to the referee’s decision to award Moroka Swallows a late equaliser after the initial goal was disallowed.
The Brazilians gave away a two-goal lead to allow Swallows back into the game after the two sides played out to a 2-2 draw at the Dobsonville Stadium on Monday.
However, there was late drama as Gabadinho Mhango’s 84th minute equaliser was initially ruled offside, but after the referee consulted with his assistant, the goal was awarded, seeing the Dube Birds walk away with a point.
Mokwena made the claim that he was shocked by the refereeing decision, as he believes the goal should have been disallowed.
“Ja, well I don’t know because, you know who I feel more pity for? It’s Spurs, Richards Bay, those are the teams I feel sorry for,” Mokwena told SuperSport TV after the game.
“But anyway…
“It’s shocking, very shocking. But anyway, okay guys. I have to look at it. We dominated, we created a lot of chances, we should have been very clear by halftime.
“We had an opportunity to make it three there, we pass, pass, pass and also when we see that it’s offside we should not head it back, so I’ll have to look and see. But okay.”
