Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena was full of praise for his side after they maintained their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership following their win over Chippa United.
The Brazilians continued their run of form in the league this season following their 2-0 win over the Chilli Boys, thanks to goals from Teboho Mokoena and Tashreeq Matthews at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Sundowns have now opened a 12-point gap at the summit of the table with 45 points after 19 games, while Chippa are placed 11th on the log with 23 points from 20 matches.
Mokwena admits he was not happy with his side’s first-half performance but felt his side made up for it following their showing in the second-half.
“It was so easy at half-time because that’s why I say I wanna thank the players because before we said anything, before I could speak to them, they were already speaking to each other, they were not happy with each other,” Mokwena told SuperSport TV after the game.
“So before the coaches were unhappy with them and expresses his unhappiness, they are expressing their unhappiness with each other, so they are great human beings, good people.
“And I wanna thank them for being there for me also this week, it’s been a difficult week for me but they were there for me and I wanna thank this group, very good group.”
