Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena admits his game plan did not work and feels his side could have done better despite securing all three points against Sekhukhune United.
The Brazilians got their DStv Premiership title defence off to a positive start after they clinched a 2-1 victory over Sekhukhune at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday evening.

Goals from Peter Shalulile and Lucas Ribeiro Costa cancelled out Jamie Webber’s 61st minute goal in a match which saw either side get a red card after Vusimusi Mncube and Rivaldo Coetzee were shown their marching orders.
Although Mokwena was pleased with the result he believes his side could have done much better to secure a comfortable win.
“It just wasn’t working. We had a specific plan and it just wasn’t coming together,” Mokwena told SuperSport TV.
“But Modiba is very important for us. He gives us so much versatility and multiple options. He understands this is the game of football.
“Maseko did very well when he came on, he gave us the impetus we were looking for. But yeah, congratulations it’s always very good to start off with a win and I’m very, very proud of the players and their effort.”
