Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena feels his side can still improve on their recent form despite claiming their 12th successive win in the DStv Premiership.
The Brazilians continued their impressive run of form in the league after they clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs through a Neo Maema goal at the FNB Stadium this past weekend.
Sundowns have now moved 17 points clear at the top of the league standings with 46 points after 17 games, while the defeat saw Amakhosi drop down to sixth position – level on 24 points with Sekhukhune United in fifth place on the log.
Mokwena was pleased with his side’s showing and believes that this was by far their better performance compared to their last two games against Chippa United and SuperSport United, respectively.
“We always have to improve, we have to get better and we say it [all the time] after winning,” Mokwena told his club’s official website
“I think today’s performance was slightly better than the last two, although still a little bit too open but I speak from a coaching perspective when I say we have to improve.
“Even if we win [games] in a row or even if we lose, we still have to get better, there’s no ceiling and we have to think about that and know that.
“We will work hard to always improve and get better and keep trying to make our supporters happy by playing the type of football that will make everyone happy.”
