Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki is taking positives from their defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns as they prepare for their upcoming MTN8 quarter-final clash against Cape Town City.
The Glamour Boys are yet to secure their first win this campaign, having played out to a goalless draw against Chippa United in their DStv Premiership opener.
Amakhosi then suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the defending champions at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Chiefs will now face Cape Town City in their MTN8 opener when the two sides meet at Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Ntseki says his side are working on rectifying their mistakes as they go in search of their first victory this season.
“The positives we can take from the game is that our structure worked out,” Ntseki told his club’s official website.
“We didn’t give them space in between the lines. In the second half we applied more pressure on the ball which led to them making mistakes that gave us chances to score.
“We still managed to stay in the game despite not playing our normal game. Mentally we were very strong, and we defended as a team, which was very important.”
