Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki feels that his side needs to start creating more chances and converting them after playing to a draw against Chippa United in their DStv Premiership opener.
The Glamour Boys got their 2023/24 campaign off to a slow start after they played out to a goalless draw against the Chilli Boys at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday.
Amakhosi will now be looking to bounce back when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in their next league encounter which is scheduled to take place at the Lucas moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Ntseki was pleased with his sides performance and feels that they will only build from their opening performances as they look for maximum points against the defending champions.
“Last third entries are very important if you want to win games. I’m not too happy about how that went today,” Ntseki told his club’s official website.
“We need to create more chances and bury them. I think having Ranga (Chivaviro) playing for the first time today, he was not 100 per cent having come from a medical situation, so I think we can only build on this in terms of the understanding of the front three.
“We did try to play wide and get crosses in but when we did, they always had numbers in the box to clear.
“I think the deep block approach worked well for them and from our side we know there will be opponents who will play with a counter attack strategy from a deep block and we have to find ways around that.”
