Orlando Pirates have confirmed that striker Zakhele Lepasa has been ruled out for their upcoming DStv Premiership encounter against Sekhukhune United on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old is set to miss the Buccaneers’ next game through suspension after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season.
Lepasa has been in fine form for Pirates having scored 10 goals in his last 16 matches across all competitions so far this season.
The Buccaneers are set to welcome Sekhukhune United to the Orlando Stadium as they look to bounce back from their defeat to Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout Cup.
Orlando Pirates released the following statement on the matter, which reads:
“The Buccaneers have been dealt a blow in their preparations as they have to do without striker Zakhele Lepasa, who is unavailable through suspension after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season over the weekend.”
“This opens up an opportunity for the other forwards in the squad in the likes of Bienvenu Eva Nga and Soaibou Marou, who could be brought in to plug the gap left by the 26-year-old after both played no part over the weekend.
“The visitors meanwhile have no suspension worries ahead of the clash and have been recently bolstered by the return midfielder Siphesihle Mkhize after a month-long absence from the match day squad.”
