Orlando Pirates have confirmed that Thabang Monare has returned to the squad ahead of their DStv Premiership fixture against Golden Arrows at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Sunday.

The 34-year-old missed the last two games after picking up a red card against Richards Bay at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on November 25.

Monare is now available for selection when they travel to the Mpumalanga Stadium when they take on Abafana Bes’thende on Sunday.

The Buccaneers have also confirmed that Innocent Maela and Thabiso Monyane have made “significant progress” in their recovery from their respective injuries.

Orlando Pirates released the following statement on the matter, which reads:

Pirates will have the experience of Thabang Monare to call upon, as the midfielder returns from his red-card suspension.

There are further boosts on the injury front, with defenders Innocent Maela and Thabiso Monyane among those who have made significant progress after their respective spells on the sidelines.

Arrows, on the other hand, will have to go without the services of Bradley Cross, who serves a one-match ban after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season during their 2-0 defeat to Chippa United.
