TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramović believes his side will be a “surprise package” this season following their victory over Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday.
The Rockets extended their unbeaten run in the DStv Premiership following their 1-0 victory over Amakhosi courtesy of an own goal by Brandon Petersen at the Mbombela Stadium.
The victory sees Galaxy climb up to third place on the table with seven points after three goals while Amakhosi dropped to 13th place on the log with one point from three matches.
Following their victory over Chiefs, Ramović wants his side to maintain their current for as they prepare for the upcoming clash against Royal AM at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.
“Our goal from the start was top eight spot, this time we will try our best to reach our goal and if we reach top eight this will be a big surprise (for) all of us,” Ramovic told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Because we would have made again a step in the right direction. We’re on the right track, I’m absolutely proud to be a coach of this beautiful club.
“I think we started fantastic, the things that we trained during the week my team did it, well pressed, tactically smart, well organised, structured, so I have to give huge credit that you can give to my players, the entire staff, to the entire club for a fantastic game.
“I think well deserved win, we had a lot of opportunities, the final pass we still have to improve, the last ten minutes we should score two, three goals more.”
He added: ” All in all I also have to congratulate the opponents, they are fantastic club, fantastic players, fantastic coaches, it’s not easy to play and win against them.
“It talks also to our strength, to our quality, we prepared yes people talk that we missed now seven quality players but our training methods, our philosophy how it is, we try to improve every player, we have a smaller squad, 24 players all in all, every player in our squad is well structured, the mindset is fast now.
“So this time I believe even more that we will be a surprise for this season, we will try our best. Yes step up, get the kind of winning mentality in our group and we will. Why? Because we work hard 24 hours, the players improve, the players have a great attitude.”
