Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro reserved special praise for striker Tshegofatso Mabasa, who walked away with the DStv Premiership Golden Boot.

The striker netted six goals for Moroka Swallows before returning to the Buccaneers for the second half of the campaign, where he scored 10 goals.

Mabasa sealed the Golden Boot when he scored his 15th goal in their 1-1 draw against SuperSport United on the final day of the season to beat Stellenbosch FC striker Iqraam Rayners to the award.

Riveiro says they will share the Golden Boot award with the Dube Birds after Mabasa spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Swallows.

“We have to share the trophy with Swallows obviously, but yeah,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the game.

“We are so happy for the guy because he came in a phenomenal moment.

“The contribution not only scoring in many teams was really important for us and hopefully it’s just the beginning for him and congratulations also to Stellenbosch.
