Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro was pleased with his side’s performance against their Soweto rivals after extending their unbeaten run over Soweto rivals Moroka Swallows.

The Buccaneers extended their unbeaten against Swallows to eight league matches after claiming all three points following their 2-0 win at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.

The win takes Pirates up to sixth place on the log with 19 points after 12 games while Swallows dropped down to seventh place with 18 points from 12 matches.

Riveiro says his side they will use this short break to rectify their mistakes as they prepare for their next encounter.

“Yeah, it’s tactics plus talent, it was a proper transition where we steal the ball in the half of the opponent, we didn’t use so many passes and it was enough to find one player behind the line,” Riveiro told SuperSport Tv after the game.

“It’s one of the risks that you get when you’re building from the back but Swallows is doing a good job also in that moment of the game. It wasn’t easy to steal balls. It was good goal I think.

“It was a difficult and different week but an important one for the group. I think the team was doing well even though we were not getting good results, the performances were really good but not the last time.

“We don’t need to accumulate one-and-half bad performances, one is enough to usually react and try to be really critical, try to solve the little problems in order to comeback the way we did today.”
