Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro believes his side are capable of winning all their remaining 15 matches to finish in a favourable position in the DStv Premiership.
The Buccaneers are currently on a three game winless run in the league following their 2-1 defeat to Cape Town City after goals by Juan Camilo Zapata and Darwin González cancelled out Deon Hotto’s 21st minute opener at the DHL Stadium on Saturday.
Pirates now find themselves sitting in eighth position on the table – level on 19 points with seventh placed City and Chippa United in ninth place after 15 matches played so far this season.
However, Riveiro is confident that his side can claim maximum points in their remaining fixture this season but they will need to turn their fortunes around on the domestic front in order to do so.
“We have 15 games to play. Those are a lot of points to play for,” Riveiro said after the game against City as quoted on the SowetanLive.
“The second part of the season is much more difficult, not only for Pirates but for everyone to collect points.
“There is no reason to think we cannot win (the remaining) 15 games.
“I’m optimistic, I’m not stupid, I know how difficult the challenge is but we are going to every game with an intention to win and let’s see at the end of the season where we are.”
