Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro felt his side played better against Stellenbosch FC than they did against Royal AM despite claiming their first win in the DStv Premiership.
The Buccaneers’ campaign got off to a slow start after they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Stellenbosch FC in their league opener after conceding a 42nd minute goal by Antonio Van Wyk at the Danie Craven Stadium this past Saturday.
Pirates bounced back in their second match after they clinched a thrilling 4-2 victory over Royal AM at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.
The Sea Robbers will now switch their attention to the MTN8 when they welcome Sekhukhune United to the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Riveiro says although his side were clinical against Royal AM after scoring four goals, he felt his side were not in control of the game after they conceded two goals on the day.
“To be honest I think we played much better two days ago than we did today,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV.
“But today we were more accurate in the opportunities that we create, one penalty, one transition and one ball behind the line… but we were not really in control or not as much as I would like.”
