The 29-year-old made only his third appearance for Sundowns this campaign when he came off the bench for Terrence Mashego to play the final 15 minutes of the game at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
The Limpopo-born midfielder will be relishing the opportunity to get more game-time under his belt when they take on Young Africans in their CAF Champions League quarter-final return leg on Friday evening.
Seabi was grateful for the opportunity he was given in the team and is striving to help the Brazilians have a successful season.
“I would like to thank the technical team for believing in me and for giving me the opportunity, but foremost the teammates, they welcomed me today, I felt like I’ve been playing for so long, so it feels good to be back in the team to help the team achieve the goal,” Seabi told Sundowns TV.
“I was just checking when I get the opportunity what can I do, where can I anticipate because I saw if they stay low block, we move the ball quicker and we have more numbers and maybe we can overpower them.
“I’m happy with the performance but I can do more it’s still a long journey but slowly and surely I’ll get there.
“I believe as a Mamelodi Sundowns team we must always win, we must win without excuses we just have to win, so I believe it’s one of those greater victories we got today. It wasn’t easy but as I said it looked like it was coming, everything has it’s own right timing.
“I believe putting too much pressure on them helped us and also the substitution that they made the guys came with energy and also the guys who started. Everyone was on par.
“I believe was a team everyone achieved what we wanted to achieve today,” he concluded.
Mamelodi Sundowns against Young Africans kicks off off at 8pm.
