Kaizer Chiefs forward Mduduzi Shabalala says his side have to be clinical if they want to stop Mamelodi Sundowns from winning the DStv Premiership title in ‘our house’.
The Glamour Boys are set to welcome Sundowns to the FNB Stadium in their next DStv Premiership fixture on Thursday evening.
Amakhosi will come into this fixture after claiming a 2-1 victory over SuperSport United when Christian Basomboli and Shabalala cancelled out Terrence Dzvukamanja’s 53rd-minute penalty at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in their previous league match.
The 20-year-old forward is hungry for more goals after scoring his first goal for Amakhosi this season, having made 16 appearances across all competitions.
“It’s a great feeling. because I have been desperately wanting to score goals to help the team,” Shabalala told his club’s official website.
“It has really boosted my confidence and increased my hunger to score more goals.”
Shabalala is determined to help his side walk away with all three points against the Brazilians and extend their wait for the league title.
“It’s always a tough match. Everybody knows that they are log leaders at the moment, but it’s really all about us,” he added.
“We are going to have to execute our game-plan, and when we get opportunities, we have to be clinical. We want to stop them from winning the league in ‘our house’.”
