Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe says he is delighted to be back in the Amakhosi squad after missing the majority of the season due to a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 31-year-old made only his fourth appearance when he came off the bench to play the final 26 minutes during their 2-0 defeat against Chippa United.
The Newcastle-born midfielder will be hoping to get another chance for some game time when they take on Richards Bay in their next DStv Premiership encounter scheduled for Saturday at the King Zwelithini Stadium, with kick off set for 3pm.
Sithebe says he is happy to be back in the squad of a long period on the sidelines due to injury, having made three appearances since his return.
“I am really happy to have got back into the team and been given a chance to make a strong comeback, playing the full 90 minutes. I am proud of myself for that,” Sithebe told his club’s official website.
“After the disappointing recent results, it’s important for us to give the fans something to enjoy because they always support us even when we have not been winning our games.”
Speaking on his chances against the Chilli Boys, Sithebe nearly scored a spectacular goal against them but his venomous strike was saved by goalkeeper, Darren Johnson.
“I thought it was going in, but eish, it was one of those days when you don’t have the luck,” he added.
