Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe is determined to help his club secure a CAF competition spot next season following his recent return from injury.
The 31-year-old made only his fourth appearance when he came off the bench to play the final 26 minutes during their 2-0 defeat against Chippa United.
The Newcastle-born midfielder will be hoping to get another chance for some game time when they take on Richards Bay in their next DStv Premiership encounter scheduled for Saturday at the King Zwelithini Stadium, with kick off set for 3pm.
“Obviously we are concerned,” Sithebe told his club’s official website.
“Especially when we look at some of the games where we made a lot of opportunities but the ball just wasn’t going into the net. As players, we need to pull up our socks and keep working as hard as we can in the remaining games.
“They are near the bottom of the log and fighting for their survival, so it’s going to be a hard match, but we need those points just as much and therefore we will be going all out to beat them.
“We want to first secure our place in the top eight, but we want more than that. We still want to qualify for a CAF competition next season.”
