Stellenbosch FC have announced the signing of goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke on a permanent transfer from Baroka FC.
The 30-year-old joins Stellies from Baroka and will now fight for the number one position with teammates Sage Stephens and Lee Langeveldt.
The shot-stopper has penned a long-term deal with the club and brings a wealth of experience, having made close to 200 appearances playing in the DStv Premiership, National First Division, and domestic cup competitions for TS Sporting and Baroka.
Masuluke is also famously known for finishing as a runner-up to France international striker Olivier Giroud for the Fifa Puskas Award in 2017.
Barker has since welcome the club’s first signing and says his experience will add “extra depth and quality” to the squad.
“As a club, we always want to have competitiveness and depth in all of our positions, and adding Oscarine to our goalkeeping department provides that,” Barker told his club’s official website.
“I had a stint coaching him at the DStv Compact Cup last year and saw his qualities there, and that definitely played a part in the decision to bring him in.
“He’s a goalkeeper with massive experience, great quality, and good size. He’s good with his hands and feet, and he’s a good shot-stopper, so he’s been brought in to add that extra depth and quality.”
