Stellenbosch FC has confirmed the signing of midfielder Genino Palace on a permanent transfer from Maritzburg United.

The 24-year-old joins the club on a long-term contract after spending the last season-and-a-half with the Team of Choice.

In his time at Maritzburg, Palace only managed to find the back of the net once and made 42 appearances across all competitions.

Palace also has experience with the national team after he represented Bafana Bafana at the 2023 Cosafa Cup.

Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker is delighted to have signed a talented midfielder of Palace’s calibre and he believes Palace will add value not only to the midfielder but the team itself.

“We are delighted with the signing of Genino Palace,” Barker told his club’s official website.

“He’s a very energetic and exciting midfielder who we had monitored throughout last season.

“He adds a lot of value to our team as a box-to-box midfielder who can add to both our defence and our attack. He’s very athletic and a technically good footballer, who we are very pleased to have added to our ranks.”
