Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the appointment of Paulo Cardoso as their new head of academy.

Paulo joins the club from Brazilian outfit Fluminense FC where he served as their Youth Consultant.

He also brings experience working in. various countries including Portugal, Bulgaria, Australia and China as well as working with KZN Football Academy as their Technical Director.

Paulo is also highly educated with a EUFA A Coaching License, a degrees in Sports Science and in Sport Management as well as an MBA in Football Leadership.

Speaking on his appointment Mamelodi Sundowns’ Technical Director, Flemming Berg said: “Hiring a new Head of Academy isn’t just a recruitment process; it’s a pivotal moment in shaping the future of our club.

“Paulo comes with extensive knowledge from the highest international level and has worked with some of the absolute best players in the world like Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, Bruma.”
