Mamelodi Sundowns have expressed their best wishes to Steve Komphela after he left the club to join Swallows FC as their new head coach.
Komphela is set to leave the Brazilians after joining the club in 2020 as a senior coach alongside Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena, respectively.
The 56-year-old coach brings a wealth of experience having previously worked at Manning Rangers, Dynamos, South Africa U-20, Maritzburg United, South Africa U-23, Free State Stars, Platinum Stars, South Africa (caretaker), Kaizer Chiefs, Bloemfontein Celtic, Golden Arrows, and most recently Mamelodi Sundowns
Komphela will be introduced to the club on Tuesday and he will be assisted by Musa Nyatama and Ditheko Mototo.
“Mamelodi Sundowns today expressed its best wishes to Steve Komphela on his appointment as the Head Coach of Swallows FC,” Sundowns announced.
“The Chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, Tlhopie Motsepe said: “Steve Komphela served Mamelodi Sundowns with loyalty and devotion and will always be a member of the Mamelodi Sundowns Family. We wish him everything of the best.”
“Mamelodi Sundowns is currently busy with its pre-season and will travel to Rustenburg in the coming week.”
