Mamelodi Sundowns officially lifted the DStv Premiership title following their 1-1 draw against Maritzburg United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The match ended all square after Jose Meza’s 71st minute goal cancelled out Surprise Ralani’s 24th minute opener in Pretoria.
The result sees Maritzburg climb up to 14th place on the log and into the safe zone but their safety depends on 15th placed Marumo Gallants and Chippa United in 16th place, who still a have game in hand over the Team of Choice.
Chippa are set to host Golden Arrows in Gqeberha on Saturday while Gallants are set to face Swallows FC in their final league fixture.
