Mamelodi Sundowns legends and teammates have paid tribute to striker Peter Shalulile after he became the latest player to reach the 100 goal mark in Premier Soccer League history.

The Nambian international joined the 100 club in the PSL after he bagged a brace in Sundowns’ commanding 4-1 victory over CR Belouizdad in the quarter-final first leg of the Caf Champions League this weekend.

Shalulile now becomes the seventh player to reach this feat behind Siyabonga Nomvethe, Mabhuti Khenyeza, Daniel Mudau, Tico Tico Bucuane, Collins Mbesuma and most recently Bradley Grobler.

Sundowns legends as well as teammates have since praised Shalulile’s work ethic and insatiable eye for goal.

“He wants to achieve more. He’s someone who is always hungry,” says teammate Mothubi Mvala.

“I call him a monster, because he wants to get the ball and put it in the back of the net. You can see the power he has and the technique. He doesn’t score beautiful goals, he’s just scoring goals,” Legendary Sundowns striker Daniel ‘Mambush’ Mudau said.

“And that’s why the supporters like him.”

Meanwhile Ugandan goalkeeper Denis Onyango and Zambian keeper Kennedy Mweene also paid their respect to the Namibian striker.

“He’s a nightmare to goalkeepers, including us, because what he does on the pitch on match day is what he does in training. He’s one guy who really likes to hit the back of the net,” said Ugandan keeper Dennis Onyango.

“It’s the hard work. He puts goalkeepers under pressure. He’s got that thing that one out of 10 times, the goalkeeper will make a mistake and he capitalists,” Kennedy Mweene said.
