Golden Arrows coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi says his sides will learn from their mistake and work on rectifying them following their defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Arrows suffered their first defeat of the season after they fell to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the defending champions through Lesiba Nku and goals from Peter Shalulile and Grant Kekana.
The defeat leaves Arrows in sixth place with four points while Sundowns remain at the top of the log with nine points after three matches.
Vilakazi opened up on what he told his team at the half time interval which in some regard as they had a better second half than they did the first.
“We had a challenge in terms of defensive and also offensive play. So we just wanted to try something else. I just told the players at half time it can never be worse than what it is right now we just need to go back and try not to concede,” Vilakazi told SuperSport TV after the game.
“Unfortunately, we conceded another goal in the second half but the structure defensively was much better. We could’ve done better because even playing wide we were able to combine five, six touches in the second half which is something we were struggling with in the second half.
“So I think we will build on this one and take the positive out of it and rectify all the mistakes we’ve done today.”
Abafana Bes’thende will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Polokwane City in their next DStv Premiership encounter at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Saturday, 26 August.
“We will definitely have to redeem ourselves playing against them at home. We must take advantage of that and try to win the game and get the three points,” he added.
“What I’ve just said now we just don’t need to look down, we just need to look forward and go for the next challenge and make sure that we do better.”
